About Laurel Parker

I spent decades doing “everything right” and still felt stuck.

Now I help active women over 50 stop the diet battle and become their own nutrition boss.

I know what it feels like to eat less, exercise more, follow the advice, and still wonder why your body will not respond. My story is personal, and it is the reason I coach women toward real food, balanced blood sugar, self-trust, and healthy aging.

Hi, I’m Laurel

My health story started long before my A1C changed.

I am an active 60+ year old woman with three children, four grandchildren, two master’s degrees, and a career that included translator, day care manager, and mediator and human resources professional. I also served as my parents’ full-time caregiver at the end of their lives.

I have had an active interest in health and fitness since I was a teenager. But my self-image and self-worth were tied to the scale from the time I was 12 years old. For decades, I chased a number, followed diet advice, exercised to make up for what I ate, and still felt shame when my body did not respond the way I thought it should.

The old way was not working

I was dieting and exercising my way toward poor health.

Like many women, I spent years trying to solve my health with restriction, willpower, low-fat foods, diet drinks, and more exercise. I learned useful things along the way, but the deeper cycle never changed.

The scale became the scoreboard.

I lost weight, gained it back, skipped meals, lived on “diet food,” and felt out of control around holidays, vacations, restaurants, and parties. I was not weak. I was hungry, under-fueled, and confused by advice that kept me stuck.

My body was trying to protect me.

At 40, I was told I had arthritis, elevated cholesterol, and elevated blood sugar. Doctors called it genetic or part of aging. I resisted medication and started paying closer attention to what I was eating, but I still carried shame and fear around my body.

The turning point

Everything changed when I stopped fighting my body.

After caring for my parents at the end of their lives, I knew I did not want the same path for myself or my children. I needed a way to support my body, not punish it.

1

My family history got my attention.

Heart disease, diabetes, dementia, strokes, muscle loss, and loss of independence were no longer abstract concerns. I had seen the cost up close.

2

My own bloodwork became the warning sign.

Despite my effort, my A1C rose to the point where medication became part of the conversation. I resisted because I believed there had to be a better first step.

3

I learned why eating less was not the answer.

I began understanding set points, the dieting roller coaster, and how under-fueling can work against muscle, metabolism, blood sugar, and long-term health.

4

I found the PFC3 lifestyle.

I learned to balance protein, fats, and carbs, eat more often than I thought I was allowed, recognize cravings, and fuel my body with real food.

“No pills. No powders. No deprivation. Just real food, balanced blood sugar, and small daily changes that worked.”

My sleep improved. My energy rose. My immune system got stronger. My hair, nails, and skin became healthier. My “baby belly” finally started changing. At my next doctor’s appointment, my A1C had dropped into a healthy range.

My mission

I help women become their own nutrition boss.

I became a certified coach so I could help other women avoid the shame and self-loathing I carried as a 12-year old, a college student, a pregnant wife, and a mom. I also want to help women stay strong and healthy as they age, something I wish my parents had been able to do.

I believe smart, sustainable daily actions can transform your health and fitness without fads, extremes, or starting over every Monday.

Real food Simple meals that support blood sugar and energy.
Small steps Daily actions that feel doable in real life.
Self-trust Learning to understand your body’s signals again.
